📌 2026/07/15 Two research papers have been accepted for presentation at the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (IEEE ITSC 2026). The papers advance Data-driven intelligent transportation system : one presents a GPS-aligned framework for anomaly detection and localization in railway pantograph-catenary systems to support predictive railway maintenance. While the other introduces a privacy-preserving approach for inferring nationwide freight transportation topologies from large-scale expressway OD search data, enabling data-driven logistics and infrastructure planning.

📌 2026/07/01 Our paper, “Traffic Congestion Prediction in the Era of Big Traffic Data: An Empirical Study through Industry–Academia Collaboration and AI Challenge Competitions,” has been published in the Journal of Traffic Engineering. The paper reports on industry–academia collaborative and empirical efforts conducted through the 2023 NEXCO Traffic Congestion Prediction AI Challenge (1st) and the 2024 NEXCO Traffic Congestion Prediction AI Challenge (2nd), highlighting the use of big traffic data and AI for data-driven traffic congestion prediction.

📌 2026/05/17 Our research paper, “The Scaling Bottleneck of Human Mobility Modeling” by Lifeng Lin, Hangli Ge, Xiang Zhang, Yao Yao, Kazuma Hatano, Ryosuke Shibasaki, and Noboru Koshizuka, has been accepted for presentation at the 2026 ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM KDD 2026).

📌 2026/03/26 One co-authored paper, “CausalMob: Causally Predicting Human Mobility with LLMs-Derived Human Intentions Toward Public Events” by Xiaojie Yang, Hangli Ge, Jiawei Wang, Zipei Fan, Renhe Jiang, Ryosuke Shibasaki, and Noboru Koshizuka has been awarded as Telecom Interdisciplinary Research Student Award - Grand Prize Winner from the Telecommunication Advancement Foundation.
📌 2026/03/16 The team successfully delivered a joint research project for the Osaka Expo. It was a great honor to contribute to such a once-in-decades international public initiative.
